The current reality
There is no regulated online poker in New York in 2026. New Yorkers who play online do so at offshore rooms, most commonly those on the Chico Network such as TigerGaming and BetOnline, which accept New York players but operate outside state regulation.
What legalization could bring
If New York eventually passes iGaming, regulated online poker could return with player protections, dispute resolution and — critically for the game's health — the possibility of joining a multi-state liquidity compact that pools players across states for bigger tournaments and busier cash games. That prospect remains hypothetical until a bill passes.
